David Drinkwater, Interim Head of School

As Interim Head of School, David Drinkwater brings decades of experience as an educator to Blue Oak.  David holds B.A., M.A., and D.Phil degrees in History from Oxford University.  He has served as Assistant Professor and Associate Dean at the State University of New York at New Paltz; Dean of Students at Amherst College; Dean of Students and adjunct professor at Cornell University; and Head of Friends Academy in Locust Valley, New York.

As Head of Metairie Park Country Day School from 1994 - 2006, David focused its strategic direction; enhanced its academic, athletic and artistic programs; implemented an innovative schedule; greatly expanded its educational use of technology; strengthened its financial support, admissions and diversity; and added major facilities to its architecturally distinguished campus.

, Business Officer

Prior to joining Blue Oak School, Jerry was Vice President of Finance and HR for the Silicon Valley Education Foundation in San Jose.  Jerry's prior experience includes 13 years as a finance and accounting director in the IT Services industry, most recently with Peak IP Solutions in Livermore, and over a decade working in the banking industry.  Jerry is a CPA and holds a BA in Philosophy from Santa Clara University and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.  Jerry and his wife Gita currently reside in Danville and have two children attending elementary school.  He has been with Blue Oak School since September of 2010.


, Director of Admissions & Marketing

Barbara Lundberg has led admissions at the Ethel Walker School and Wheaton College and has also led marketing for the Greater Hartford Ridesharing Corporation.  Barbara has extensive admissions, marketing and college counseling experience.  She holds a BA in History and a MA in Counseling.





, Director of Development & Communication

Sarah brings more than 20 years of strategic planning and fundraising experience with local and international nonprofit organizations such as Save the Children, the United Nations, and the World Bank.  Prior to joining Blue Oak School, Sarah served as Director of Development and Pro Bono Coordinator for Legal Aid of Napa Valley, as well as Director of the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Napa County.
