Admission

At Blue Oak School we are committed to providing students at every level, from kindergarten to eighth grade, with an educational experience that engages and inspires.

We are currently accepting applications for the 2010-11 school year.

In the classroom, on the playing field or at work in the community, we draw students into a world of unlimited possibilities and nurture them to think clearly, feel deeply and act wisely. We measure our success by our students - the way they interact, their confidence and enthusiasm, the choices they make and the lives they lead.

Blue Oak School seeks students who mirror the diversity of backgrounds, talents and interests represented in the North Bay Area. It benefits all students to be part of a diverse community where hearts and minds can be opened to new perspectives and points of view. By educating children in an environment that embodies the richness and variety of our world, we give them the tools they need to be thoughtful and tolerant citizens. Children from a variety of economic, ethnic and religious backgrounds, who possess a range of academic skills, will prepare our students for an increasingly connected and diverse world. The strong academic program, with interdisciplinary units of study and a solid liberal arts curriculum, allows students to demonstrate intellectual purpose and curiosity as the focus is on understanding material, rather than simply memorizing it.

The School seeks children of families who share our philosophy of education and child development so that the child feels a consistency of values at home and at school. Such children will feel confident in taking risks and reaching out to others.
