Every year, a crew of as many as 80 volunteers join forces to produce the Blue Oak School Beneath the Canopy annual benefit auction.
T
he results of their combined efforts have been spectacular, as Beneath the Canopy has become known as an event where people can find unique travel and winemaker experiences, cult and collectible wines and exciting family-oriented experiences all while enjoying fine food and lively company in a beautiful Napa Valley setting. We are eager to continue building that reputation and confident that we can do so.
Volunteers are critical to this and the opportunities to contribute to Beneath the Canopy come in many shapes and sizes. From stuffing envelopes to lot solicitation, from décor to logistics planning, there are many ways to participate. We encourage volunteers to think about their interests and talents and look creatively at how they can apply those to volunteering on Beneath the Canopy.
If you are a scrap-booker, perhaps you would like to create live lot storyboards for display at the event. If you have a truck and broad shoulders, you may want to be part of the set-up or wine transportation teams. If you are a super-organized multi-tasker, silent or live auction logistics planning may be for you.
With the School's network of parents reaching deep into Napa Valley's wine community, special “asks” for wine donations from people you know, or from your own wine business, is a great way to contribute to the auction. We are always seeking wine donations for the Blue Oak School Family Wine lot, a popular signature lot of our Live Auciton, or for pouring at the event, for the wine raffle’s “instant cellar,” and other wine auction lots.
In short, volunteer opportunities abound and are available at every level of commitment. Please consider what time and talents you are able to contribute and join our exceptional team of volunteers as we work together to launch this exciting and important event in support of Blue Oak School.
