Endowment

The Blue Oak School Endowment provides long-term financial security to insure the sustainability of the School.

Gifts to the endowment allow Blue Oak School to continue providing an innovative educational opportunity to the diverse community of children in the Napa Valley area for generations to come.

Endowment Campaign for Innovation & Access

Blue Oak School's current endowment campaign was launched in 2007.  With a goal of raising $5 million over five years, the Endowment Campaign for Innovation & Access is intended to support two key components of a Blue Oak School education: innovation and access.

Innovation

From the development of curriculum to the structure of classes, new and innovative ways of thinking, doing and exploring are integrated into every aspect of the Blue Oak School experience. Students are challenged daily to think creatively to make new discoveries about themselves, their community and the world around them. It takes the right teachers and the right resources to ensure that the promise of a Blue Oak School education is fulfilled for every child, and this requires financial support.

Access

Building a student body that mirrors the population of the Napa Valley and its environs continues to be one of the most important challenges facing the School. It benefits all students to be part of a diverse community where hearts and minds can be opened to new perspectives and points of view. By educating children in an environment that embodies the richness and variety of our world, we give children the tools they need to be thoughtful and tolerant citizens. Blue Oak School has from its inception been committed to providing the best educational environment to children of diverse backgrounds and interests. This too, requires financial support.

The Blue Oak School Endowment is a vital part of the financial support for the innovative programs and community diversity at the heart of a Blue Oak School education. The success of the Endowment Campaign for Innovation & Access will help ensure that Blue Oak School is able to live its mission and build a culture and community of learning, stewardship and understanding for the students of today and tomorrow.

What is an endowment?

An endowment helps to secure an institution's long-term financial stability. Endowment funds are invested in perpetuity with the interest earned providing an institution with annual income for on-going support. Many independent schools, like Blue Oak School, maintain an endowment. Income from the investment of Blue Oak School's endowment, together with fundraising initiatives, help bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating a child at the School.
