Thank you for your interest in supporting Blue Oak School.
S
upport from Blue Oak School parents, grandparents and friends as well as the wider community is essential to the success of Blue Oak School and our students, faculty and staff. As is the case at most independent schools, tuition does not cover the full cost of a Blue Oak School education. Approximately 80% of the School's operating costs are covered by tuition while the remaining 20% is supplemented by charitable contributions.
As a non-profit and non-denominational institution, Blue Oak School does not receive funding from government or religious institutions. Instead, we rely on the generosity of our families and community supporters to provide the resources that enable the School to offer the engaging and stimulating education that is at the heart of the Blue Oak School experience. The generosity of our donors makes it possible for Blue Oak School to offer an innovative, project-based liberal arts program; attract and retain exceptional teachers; maintain small class size; provide first-rate educational materials and technology; and offer a generous need-based finanical aid program to students who would otherwise be unable to attend the School.
Blue Oak School is grateful to all those who have supported the School and our mission over the years. There are many ways to support Blue Oak School - from volunteering time and expertise to providing financial support through voluntary donations. We encourage everyone in our ever-widening community of donors to consider the method and level of giving that is most comfortable for them. Every gift makes a difference.
Gifts to Blue Oak School are deductible as permitted by law.
The
Annual Fund is the cornerstone of our fundraising efforts and helps the School meet its budgetary needs each year. In addition to our annual dollar goal, it is our objective to reach 100% parent participation.
Beneath the Canopy Annual Benefit Auction is a fun-filled weekend that raises important dollars for the School in support of teacher salaries, financial aid and other vital programs at the School.
The Blue Oak School Endowment provides long-term financial security and helps ensure the future of the School.
Planned Giving provides donors with an opportunity to support Blue Oak School while enjoying significant estate and income tax benefits. Planned giving gifts include bequests, trusts, life insurance and retirement savings.
Nuestro Futuro
is a financial aid fund targeted for Latino children. Donations to this fund help the School continue to build a diverse student body.
Gifts of time and expertise are as essential to Blue Oak School's success as financial donations. Volunteer opportunities are available in a variety of contexts at every level of commitment.
Opportunities to support the School are also available through "community partner" programs such as eScrip and Target's "Take Charge of Education." These programs allow shoppers to designate a non-profit institution, such as Blue Oak School, as the recipient of donations based on a percentatge of purchases made.
